Dreams
This past week I was flown to Kona, Hawaii from Virginia to plan a love feast. In YWAM (Youth With A Mission) every school has a celebration at the end of the quarter & they call it love feast. I staffed a DTS (discipleship training school) last year & planed their love feast because it was such a hit they asked me to come back to recreate the magic.
Last week as I was running around like a mad man trying to plan a extravagant party in TWO DAYS I was thinking how I absolutely LOVE planing events like these, regardless of the ridiculousness. I also remember how when I was a teenager in high school I would always tell my friends that one day I would have lots of money & I would throw beautiful parties. I wanted to be rich because I wanted to throw parties where my friends could enjoy themselves & each other.
Years later…
I am doing what I have dreamed of; planning huge, amazing, classy, exciting, FUN parties for my friends that I love & It does not look anything like I thought it would be, it’s even better.
I have been so encouraged! This desire to plan parties & events have been deep in my heart for years but I never thought it was from the Lord or I could ever tap into it as being a missionary. The Lord truly puts desires in our hearts for a reason, even when we have no idea why they are there or if we will ever come to pass or if they dont seem “holy”. I have been encouraged to dream more, ask myself questions like what do I really want, what gets me excited, what would I like my future to look like. Even if it’s the smallest most random desires I believe they are in our hearts for a reason.
I am excited for my future.
